NJHS Student Credits Competitive Spirit With Academic Success
North Jackson High School sophomore Will Rich is quick to tell you he hates to lose. If there is a competition, he wants to be on top. He has carried that drive and determination in the classroom and his GPA is evidence of his success. Like other NJHS students, he is making adjustments to the new schedule and course load. He said that it makes the day seem to go by really fast; however, he has to manage his time better to make sure he gets all of his assignments completed. In addition to a full load of high school courses he is also getting a head start on his college career by taking three dual-enrollment courses through Northeast Alabama Community College.
Will was recently elected for a second year as an SGA representative. He is a member of the Academic Excellence committee, Beta Club, and FFA. This is also his second season running cross country for the Chiefs.  When he is not at school, his favorite thing to do is work on the family farm and spend time with his grandfather.
His future plans are to attend Auburn University and major in the engineering field. He describes himself as hardworking, dependable, respectful, and competitive. This appears to be a perfect combination for him to see continued success. Will is the son of Robert and Cayce Rich.
