As long as he can remember, Carter Gass has loved to play basketball. Last year, as a member of the varsity North Jackson basketball team, he had the opportunity to play in the regional tournament at Jacksonville State University. He will quickly tell you that experience has been the driving force for him during the off season.
Chief basketball opens up the season this week with a home-opener against Ider and Carter says they are working hard to not only return to Jacksonville State but continue on to Birmingham. His mission is simply--"do something that has never been done".
Carter not only excels on the basketball court. He was elected to represent the Class of 2020 in the SGA. He is also a member of the NJ Beta Club and FCA. Carter is a member of the varsity baseball team and hopes to have the opportunity to play collegiate baseball. He plans on majoring in the engineering field. He is the son of Sonia and Michael Gass.
His advice for success is "To be the best you can be everyday" and remember the words of 2 Corinthians 5:7, "For we walk by faith, not by sight".
