More Than Football

During football season on Friday nights it doesn't take opponents long to notice #64 on the offensive line. In fact, so many folks were paying attention that the player wearing the number, Ronaldo Marmolejo, was selected as Alabama 4A First-Team All-State. Ronaldo served as a captain for his team and was also named All-Region. Ronaldo also throws shot-put for the NJHS track team.

Off the field, he has another goal he wants to achieve. Upon graduation, he hopes to attend the University of North Alabama and earn a degree in nursing. Math has always been his favorite subject and he has a strong desire to help others. In the classroom he has a 3.9 GPA while taking advanced coursework and dual enrollment classes. He is a member of the Beta Club and was selected as Mr. Beta. His leadership skills were recognized as he also was selected for Jackson County Youth Leadership.

Ronaldo is the son of Evelia Marmolejo of Stevenson. He has an older brother, Johnny, who was a 2015 graduate of NJHS. Ronaldo is described as driven and determined. He has a couple of football offers on the table to help continue his education. As he evaluates his options there is one thing that motivates him. He wants to complete his degree and be successful in his career.
