Mission
Our library is a place where students can explore, learn, and develop a lifelong love of reading while using technology to discover, create, and grow.
Please take a moment to review the check-out policy to ensure a smooth and enjoyable experience for all.
Check-Out Policy for Kindergarten and 1st Grade- Number of Books: Students in Kindergarten and 1st grade may check out 1 book per week.
- Check-Out Duration: Books are checked out during students' weekly library time.
- Book Exchange: Students can exchange their books during their scheduled library visit each week.
- Book Care Reminder: We encourage students to keep their library books in their book bags when not being read. This helps ensure the book is returned on time and remains in good condition.
Check-Out Policy for 2nd through 4th Grade
- Number of Books: Students in 2nd through 4th grade may check out 1 picture book and 1-chapter book per week.
- Book Exchange: Students are encouraged to take an Accelerated Reading (AR) Test after finishing their chapter book. Once they complete the test, they may return to the library during open library time to exchange books.
- Book Care Reminder: Students should take care of their books and return them in good condition.
Returning Books- Please refer to the library schedule to ensure books are returned before or during their next scheduled library visit.
- If a book is finished early, students may return it to the library at any time for an exchange during their scheduled library period or with permission from their teacher during scheduled open library time.
Overdue and Lost/Damaged Books
- Notice- A library notice will be sent home if a book has not been returned for two weeks.
- Lost or Damaged Books: Books not returned in the condition in which they were loaned out or lost will be charged a replacement fee. * We are seeing water damage from books left in book bags with water bottles. Any help reminding them to store their water bottles on the side of the bag correctly would be greatly appreciated.
- Replacement Policy: Please do not purchase a book from a retailer as a replacement for a lost or damaged book. Book replacements are ordered from specific companies that provide library-bound versions of the books for durability.
Guidelines for Respectful Behavior in the Library
The Tiger Library is a shared space where everyone deserves to feel safe, welcome, and respected. Please follow these guidelines to ensure a positive experience for all:

Respect Each Other's Space: Use quiet voices and keep your hands and feet to yourself. Allow everyone to enjoy a calm and focused environment.
-
Respect the Materials: Handle books, computers, and other library materials gently. Return items to their proper places when finished.
-
Respect the Teacher: Listen and follow directions from the librarian or teacher. Raise your hand if you have a question or need help.

Acceptable Use of Technology in the Library
Technology is a valuable resource in our library to support learning, research, and creativity. To ensure that technology is used responsibly, please follow these guidelines:
-
Use Technology for Learning: Devices such as computers and tablets are to be used for school-related tasks like research, reading, and educational games approved by the librarian.
-
Handle Devices with Care: Be gentle with all technology equipment. Do not touch the screen with sharp objects, and keep food and drinks away from devices.
-
Stay on Task: Use the devices for their intended purpose. Avoid visiting inappropriate websites or playing non-educational games.
-
Respect Privacy: Do not share your personal information or log in with someone else's account. Always log out when finished.
