Stevenson Middle is comprised of grades five through eight. We have approximately 285 students, averaging between 70-75 kids a grade. We have a full time counselor, librarian, and nurse on staff. Our administration team consists of our principal and assistant principal as well as our very important school secretary. Our facilities were built in 2001 and due to the dedication of our custodial staff, it still looks like brand new even after all these years of use. We have two state of the art science labs and utilize the AMSTI program which allows every student to participate in hands on science experiments and opportunities. We have an abundance of technology for students and teachers. Each student has access to a chromebook in every class. Every teacher has a promethean board with software to enhance learning. Google Classroom is utilized in order to help students better organize their studies as well as prepare them for life after middle school. Parents can sign up for the parent portal to keep track of how their child is doing more frequently than just the 4.5 weeks that progress reports/report cards are sent home. Every staff member has email that parents or community members can contact us with in order to keep the collaboration between stakeholders. Our schools Junior Beta Club competed at the state level and had students compete in Oklahoma City this summer in the National Convention. While we know students are more than test scores, we would like to recognize that our students are increasing in state testing performance here at SMS. Our athletic teams are very competitive and respresent us well. Our cheer program has been state champions many times. If you cannot already tell, we love our school and we like to brag! Our staff is confident that we offer students a great education and we are looking daily to make it even better.
