Public Charter School Authorizing

Jackson County Schools is an approved Alabama public charter school authorizer. The Jackson County Board of Education is accepting applications for start-up public charter schools through its 2026 Request for Proposals (RFP).

Jackson County Schools seeks high-quality public charter school proposals that expand educational opportunities for students while demonstrating strong academic, organizational, and financial accountability. Proposals should be responsive to community needs and provide equitable access for students, including historically underserved and at-risk populations.
