You are encouraged to create a free Linq Connect account for your students. Through Linq Connect you can view menus, add money to your student account for à la carte purchases, monitor your student transactions, and set up low balance alerts. There is a small fee when using a credit card; cash and checks will be accepted in the cafeterias. ​​​​​​​The Jackson County School District is seeking community members and parents to serve on the district wellness policy committee.  We recognize that healthy students are better prepared to learn and succeed in school.  The wellness committee will focus on developing and advancing the district wellness policy in order to create a healthier school environment focused on improving health and wellness outcomes for school children and staff.  If you or someone you know is interested, please contact Jennifer Pritchett, CNP Director, at 256-259-9511; pritchettj@jacksonk12.org for additional information and to indicate your interest in serving on the committee. 

Breakfast is offered daily in all Jackson County School Cafeterias. We provide hot and cold breakfast options as well as grab n go bags. Breakfast is the most important meal of the day for children, as it provides the necessary energy for a day of learning and achievement. Eating a nutritious breakfast at school can give children an extra edge. Research has shown many benefits of school breakfast, including:

• Academic achievement- students who eat school breakfast have greater gains in standardized test scores and show improvements in math, reading, and vocabulary.
• Improved Behavior- students who participate in the School Breakfast Program (SBP) are late or absent from school less often.
