I was born, not many years ago, here in Jackson County, AL. I grew up in the small Sand Mountain community known as Pleasant View (also Jackson County), where I still live today. I am a 1989 graduate of Pisgah High School. I received my undergraduate degree in Family & Consumer Sciences from Jacksonville State University. My graduate degree was earned through The University of Alabama. I taught in the Scottsboro City School System for four years before accepting a teaching position at North Jackson High School. I taught Family & Consumer Science (Home Ec) at NJHS for 18 years. I am currently in my sixth year as WBL/Cooperative Education Coordinator at the Earnest Pruett Center of Technology.
I am married to Doug Haynes, formerly of Blount County. Doug is the principal of Section School, here in Jackson County. We have two children and one fur baby (Max). Our son, Slade, and his wife Lacee have been married for one year and reside in Rainsville, AL.
