I graduated from Section High School in 2001. After high school, I attended Snead State Community College for 1 year, then transferred to Northeast Alabama Community College.  I transferred to Jacksonville State University in 2004, where I completed my bachelor's degree in elementary education in 2007.  I have my master's degree in Instructional Leadership at Alabama A&M University. I began my teaching career teaching 4th grade at Section High School in 2007 and coached Jr. High and JV boys basketball and JV baseball.  In 2009, went to Skyline High School where I taught High School PE and was the head varsity boys coach.  In 2011, I accepted the Head Girls basketball job at Scottsboro High School and taught Drivers Education.  In 2018, I was able to return home to coach the varsity boys basketball teams.  I teach Elementary and High School PE, as well as, Driver's Education.  I have two boys, Ellis (13) and Ruston (8).  I am married to Whitney Ballard of Flat Rock. We enjoy all sports and working on our farm in Dutton.
