My name is Rebecca Sawyer and I’m so pleased to be part of Dutton Elementary School.

I am the resource teacher here and I work with students in all grades. Teaching is a calling and it is such a privilege to have a part in the lives of these students and their families.  This is my fifth year teaching Special Education. Previously, I have taught fourth- grade and first- grade. This is my 8^th year working in Jackson county. Jackson County is where my family called home and where I graduated in 1989 from North Sand Mountain. Go Bisons! I attended Northeast Community College and earned an Associates Degree in Business Management. I went on to earn a Bachelor’s in both Elementary education and Collaborative Education from Athens State University.  

My husband, Kevin and I live in Shiloh, Alabama. I have a son, Connor, and a daughter, Bethany. In our free-time, we like to travel, spend time outdoors and enjoy our family.
