"I live on Sand Mountain; I just sleep in East Ridge" A quote from Mr. Douglas Whitley who grew up on what is now the empty piece of ground that lies directly behind The Bison Drive-In. He graduated North Sand Mountain School in 1967, and his heart lies on Sand Mountain though he has lived in East Ridge, Tennessee since 1993.
