Mr. Whitehead was born and raised just down the road from NJ in Scottsboro, AL where he graduated from Scottsboro High School in 2013. After high school, he attended Jacksonville State University where he was a member of the prestigious Marching Southerners, the JSU Chamber Winds, numerous JSU Jazz Ensembles, and other various groups. He graduated from Jacksonville State University in December 2017 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Music Education. Most recently, Mr. Whitehead graduated in May 2023 with his Masters of Music Education, which he received from William Carey University. Mr. Whitehead has been the Band Director at NJHS since 2019. In his free time, Mr. Whitehead serves as a Deacon and as Co-Director of Music for Agape Baptist Church in Scottsboro. He also enjoys spending time with his wife, Julia, and their son, Shepherd. He and his family are residents of Scottsboro, AL.
